Gradebook & Typing

You will check your grade today and see what is missing.   I do not want you to whine (cry) and complain.  You have everything, but maybe did not turn it in to me.  I will take it today with no questions asked.  ANYTHING in the gradebook now MUST be turned in today for full credit or Monday January 4 for late credit.

I am also going to have you learn how to type using an online typing tutor (helper).  There will be a TYPING TEST on Tues Jan 26!  You will have the entire week from Jan 11-15 in the Media Center to learn and practice.  But I also ask that you practice over winter break!

Things to do today:
  1. Turn in your news story & summary.
  2. Go to the portal and check your grade.
  3. Pay attention while I pass back work.
  4. Find any missing assignments.
    1. Turn in anything completed.
    2. Sort and find things you need to finish during Winter Break.
  5. Begin the typing practice (below).
When I am done passing back work, I want you to learn how to type - if not correctly, at least more quickly (faster).  To start, you can see the picture below showing you how your hands and fingers should be placed.

You can read some beginning directions here and get started practicing here.
Once you have the idea, you can start with more practice here, or play some typing games (just hit HOME from that page to find more games).

Over break, I'd like you to practice typing on a keyboard (loose, connected to a computer, or even a typewriter).
